Late Night Ramblings

Life was a little less insane today. Or a little more so, depending on your point of view. I spent most of the day shopping, trying to find unique stuff that was as nearly free as possible.

I didn't make a killing but I did finish up pretty much all of my Christmas shopping. I still need to figure out what to get as a wedding gift for my dad and his new wife. I hate feeling like I'm obligated to do that and sheesh... It's not like they need anything. My dad's on the order of 70 years old and if he wants something, he gets it, plain and simple. I guess I should probably get them a toaster or something else that's superfluous and easy to return.

Enough holiday spending for me, already. It's been lovely this year to buy gifts without worrying I'd go hungry, but I still have to think of priorities in the immediate future. Like gasoline for the dinosaur I'm borrowing to drive, and better yet: purchasing a smaller dinosaur of my own, hopefully one in better working order. Heck, preferably one in better working order and better looking, too! I also need to pay off my washing machine. That'll rearrange my budget significantly, anyway, and in my favor.

After what I saw of it, I figured Youngest Son's thumb was broken rather than dislocated but there was no break, per se. Dislocated, absolutely, badly enough that he's in a partial cast.

If there's a guy reading this, kindly tell me what insanity drives men to fight and maim themselves in the name of fun???

It's 2am again and I'm still awake. Again. But not for long. I'll hopefully be around earlier tomorrow!

Before - After

In the grander scheme of things, no soul can truly be replaced. Each one of us has a place in the universal tapestry. We each contribute our own color and texture. When one thread is snipped too soon, it distorts all the threads around it. Other lives can unravel and tear. If the wrong thread is ripped away, the whole fabric of life becomes dangerously fragile.
