Big Top

Mind if I scream now?

In the past 24 hours I've had a flat tire, been caught in the freezing rain when I was NOT dressed for the weather, my home computer crashed HARD and my bank charged me for an overdrawn check - that came from someone else's account. And that's ony part of the circus that passes as my life.

I slept halfway through a meeting this morning and am now trying to figure out how I'll make it through the rest of the day without nodding off.

Must be a full moon or something.

If I don't get to your diary it's because I didn't get my backup computer working. I've got it running but have to find the drivers for the motherboard so I can install the ethernet drivers. It's a work computer so in theory the install CD should be here.

In theory.

I hope that for once, theory pans out into fact. In the interim I'm on hiatus here until further notice. Hopefully the CD I found today is the one and I'll be online again tonight after work. Otherwise if we have a system problem in the middle of the night I'm going to have to drive here in the rain. I will be grumpy. It won't be pretty.

Given that it's now 1:11pm, next newscast is 3:30pm, and I have to produce that plus tomorrow's log, guess I'd better sign off here!

Before - After

In the grander scheme of things, no soul can truly be replaced. Each one of us has a place in the universal tapestry. We each contribute our own color and texture. When one thread is snipped too soon, it distorts all the threads around it. Other lives can unravel and tear. If the wrong thread is ripped away, the whole fabric of life becomes dangerously fragile.
