Hello Left Field

I got an intriguing proposal today - don't know if it's something I want to pursue or not but I'm not ready to dismiss the possibility, either.

I've been dealing with another station north of here, in Payson, and the owner there owns a second, non-profit alternative station in the same community. I've been approached about going to work there with the possibility of becoming a partner.

There are a lot more questions than answers at this point and I'm not sure I want more of the same thing I'm doing. Small market radio won't ever make me rich. But I DO love what I do, and if I'm offered reasonable hours, benefits, and a livable wage, I might go for it. That area is dramatically more livable than the pit where I now reside (albeit with comparably higher cost of living.) And it's about another 5-10 degrees cooler, which means snow in winter. It also carries a higher risk of being burned out in a forest fire.

It wouldn't get me out of Arizona, but I'd arrive with my reputation preceding me. There's a lot to be said for that.

For good or bad, I'd be closer to my family.

Okay, that's mostly bad, I'll admit.

Still... I'm at least going to talk to them and see what they've got to offer. I figure I've got nothing to lose at this point.

Before - After

In the grander scheme of things, no soul can truly be replaced. Each one of us has a place in the universal tapestry. We each contribute our own color and texture. When one thread is snipped too soon, it distorts all the threads around it. Other lives can unravel and tear. If the wrong thread is ripped away, the whole fabric of life becomes dangerously fragile.
