Byte Me

Mwahaha... I read the latest entry from D-Man and he described hearing every diary in a Cartman voice (from South Park.) I just have one thing to say about that:

Hopefully it doesn't take forever for that thing to download. It's quick and dirty. Or at least quick. Not dirty. Aw heck, you know what I mean, I hope. Keep in mind it's nowhere near a professional recording, just something cobbled together on my home PC without benefit of either a good mic or any filters or other goodies to clean it up.

I should really be sleeping, and am going to call it a night shortly here. I'm back on Atkins effective immediately. I gotta yank the sweet tooth. I know for a fact that I'm a sugar addict and realize that if I don't kill it once and for all I'll be unhealthy for the rest of my life. What's more, I LIKE the foods I can eat on Atkins.

After the first few days I stop craving junk food and start craving salads. I can do it, I know it works, and I have bought the foods I need to eat. Now I just need to stick with it. Given that Atkins-friendly is ALL I bought this time out, that shouldn't be such a big problem this time around.

I didn't accomplish as much as I'd have liked today. My outgoing salesman was griping because he didn't like some of the promos we're running, but I produced them at the directions of the station owner. I am fine with a rewrite but frankly I don't think that it's warranted.

The new saleslady is more professional and I think once J retires, things will smooth out and the promo he's griping about won't be an issue.

I'll be glad when my hair grows out just a little more. I put it into a ponytail today but it's still actually a little too short for that and it falls out around the neckline - which defeats the purpose of a ponytail. Another few months and I will be good, though. This is the longest my hair has been in YEARS. I wasn't sure how I'd deal with summer with my hair on my neck again but it's not the same as when it used to get shaggy with the layered cut.

The red dye is pretty much all gone now - it was fun while it lasted but I'm glad it faded on its own. No demarcation whatsoever where the dye ends and my roots are coming in. You can't beat that! So I'm back to my normal dirty-dishwater blondish-brown. Meh, I'll take it. Whenever I've tried to lighten or darken it (other than the temporary red) it looked awful.

Ack - it's 10:30 and I've got to be up early in the morning so will have to call it a night. Y'all behave until I get back!

Before - After

In the grander scheme of things, no soul can truly be replaced. Each one of us has a place in the universal tapestry. We each contribute our own color and texture. When one thread is snipped too soon, it distorts all the threads around it. Other lives can unravel and tear. If the wrong thread is ripped away, the whole fabric of life becomes dangerously fragile.
