New Town Marathon
Darn, I guess my gold account expired tonight. Oh well, I dunno if I'll renew or not. It's not like I don't have plenty of other web space for images, etc.
Marathon day and a half today. I was at work at 5:30am with plans to get out of here asap, allowing I normally work until 3pm, with an hour lunch. I accomplished quite a bit, actually, but then about two minutes before the clock hit 3:00 a woman came into the station, and stayed for another half an hour. Therefore I couldn't get to the bank before it closed tonight, darn it. Not the end of the world but I hate making a deposit by just dropping it into the overnight box.
I was honestly intrigued by my visitor. She's a local, at least recently; but she had some other connections that were extremely interesting. She wants to come in and halp at the studios, on a voluntary basis. She's got degrees up the wazoo in broadcast-related areas and definitely has a magnificent personality. And she has another source of income that, from what I understand, won't ALLOW her to draw a salary from the station, hence the volunteer clause.
We could always use more help, and so much the better if it's free help!
There were some other details we touched on, too; she and her hubby are building a home on property where they already HAVE a home, and she wants to rent out their former home - to me. Cheap rent, supposedly, though the house won't be done until around October-November-ish. I don't know what cheap rent is, but by that point I should be nearly up to the top of the scale for my base wage. And by that point we should also have a full time sales person so the profit sharing will be bumped up.
There were a lot of other extremely intriguing details that came up in that very brief conversation. Not sure which direction that things will take, but I've got a feeling I haven't seen the last of her. I think that's a good thing.
It's too late to go into too much detail tonight. I'm dead on my
feet butt and have got to turn in. I haven't slept nearly enough this week and it's definitely catching up with me!!!
We shall see what happens. Hey, if nothing else, my life is NEVER boring for more than about 60 seconds a month. And on those occasions, now that I've got the truck, I go for a drive, hehehe. Instant cure for boredom!
Eep! Gotta sign off and attempt some sleep or I'll be a total zombie tomorrow. Hopefully tomorrow I'll have a little more time to post.
Before - After
In the grander scheme of things, no soul can truly be replaced. Each one of us has a place in the universal tapestry. We each contribute our own color and texture. When one thread is snipped too soon, it distorts all the threads around it. Other lives can unravel and tear. If the wrong thread is ripped away, the whole fabric of life becomes dangerously fragile.
