Stop the World I Wanna Get Off

Let's try this again. This is my third attempt to post an entry. Maybe the third time will be a charm!

Work is going well, thank God. I'd scheduled an interview with one of the new artists we're playing - Jake Shimabukuro - and his manager let me know today that he was just scheduled to be on Conan O'Brien in December. Pretty darned cool in my book. I'm adding a few more current musical selections to our library, too - but need to try and streamline some aspects or we're going to end up - again - with a locked hard drive.

We're starting to get advertisers calling us to ask a sales person to stop by. That's a good yardstick to measure progress since I've been here. But it's frustrating that now OTHER things are coming together, we're no longer streaming our signal. Doesn't it just figure??? The town was streaming us through their website. We may eventually do our own streaming but it isn't going to be for a while, if so.

The love life remains in a fugue state. Latest twist - I know for sure that Dutch Immigrant guy is serious. He can't afford not to be. He needs a wife in order not to be deported! (Man, do I attract 'em or what?)

Oh well.

I'm supposed to be in bed about 45 minutes ago. I took my yoga class like a good (not-so-)little girl, but wasn't feeling well, so couldn't do some of the things we were trying to do tonight. I'm not talking the human pretzel aspects, which most of the class couldn't do - like hooking your leg around your back and over your shoulder so you can grab the foot in front - but the simpler moves and poses I can normally handle easily.

Okay, now I'm pissed. One of the people who has been emailing me on another site has passed up annoying and gone into full-blown pain-in-the-butt harassment. His profile says that he's a 35-year-old man, he's got a photo posted of an all-American-looking guy in his twenties, and after a very brief correspondence with him I've got a pretty darned good idea he's none of the above.

Told me he works in the oil business. What-evah. Might be the truth. Might be the only thing he said that came close to being true.

Ever been hit on by someone from another country and/or culture (especially if they're pretending otherwise?) I have, and I am pretty quick to pick up on it even if they DON'T give themselves away with seriously out-of-whack references to prove they don't really have a clue about the place they're claiming to live. If that makes me prejudiced, so be it. I am always prejudiced against liars, and someone who immediately gets pushy and invasive on top of lying just moves right on up to the top of my shit list.

Sorry - I wasn't going to go there tonight, but I'm just getting entirely too fed up with this crap. Good grief... The longer I'm out, the worse it gets.

I guess I'd better sign off and get my butt into bed. It has NOT been one of my better days and things aren't getting any better as the night goes on.

Before - After

In the grander scheme of things, no soul can truly be replaced. Each one of us has a place in the universal tapestry. We each contribute our own color and texture. When one thread is snipped too soon, it distorts all the threads around it. Other lives can unravel and tear. If the wrong thread is ripped away, the whole fabric of life becomes dangerously fragile.
