Nitty Gritty

Grrr... Our Internet at work has been cutting in and out all morning. Aside from making it virtually impossible to read and comment on any diaries this morning, it's made my job about twice as hard as it should be. Just getting my weather forecast, normally a two-minute process, took me half an hour.

So if I don't comment on your diary, I'll hopefully come back later today and say something. At the moment, sadly, it's taking me an average of three or four attempts to do anything. Therefore this is also going to be ridiculously short.

Got contacted by another guy, though. Of all the men who have contacted me, this one seems the closest match to me in terms of personality and of what he wants. But he immediately hit me with, "Would you relocate?"

Truth of the matter is, that's an issue I have to consider. I really like living here and I've worked my ass off getting to the point I am professionally now. Still, a long-distance relationship only works at the start. Since I haven't run across anyone here in town, one of us would have to relocate and frankly it would be more practical for me, than for most of the men with whom I've corresponded. My income here is less than for most of the guys with whom I've corresponded, plus I don't own a home, etc.

Guess I'd better get back to work. Now if this thing will just post...

Before - After

In the grander scheme of things, no soul can truly be replaced. Each one of us has a place in the universal tapestry. We each contribute our own color and texture. When one thread is snipped too soon, it distorts all the threads around it. Other lives can unravel and tear. If the wrong thread is ripped away, the whole fabric of life becomes dangerously fragile.
