Wooohooo! Not only did we get the laptop fixed, but we also now have a working PC! Nope, we didn't rob the bank (that's my story and I'm sticking to it) but someone paid me for some graphics work I'd done - by giving me a refurbished PC. I slapped in my old hard drive. There was no way to retrieve what was in it, but after fighting like crazy we were able to reformat it and get it working again.

It's been one heck of a busy weekend, though. We made two runs to Fry's Electronics for parts and whatnot. (And you know those whatnots are what get you every time.) We couldn't really afford to spend a lot but thank God at least we had enough to cover all of the stuff we DID need. We're hoping eventually to get a wireless router but for the moment that's on hold.

I'm making chicken & dumplings for lunch/dinner today so can't take a lot of time here. I have been promising for a while now, but every time I drive to the Valley (Phoenix area) it leaves me so wrung out I'm kind of useless the next day.

Anywho, now MC and I can work simultaneously online, so I can sucker er, talk him into doing the guest entry here he promised me to write a month ago, hehe. Not like I've got any room to talk. Three times now I've set up with NiciM to do a guest entry for her, and three times I've been sidelined. I hope I can catch up this time around and actually write it!

In the interim, though, I've got to sign off and make the homemade noodles.  Everybody's gonna be hungry soon.

Before - After

In the grander scheme of things, no soul can truly be replaced. Each one of us has a place in the universal tapestry. We each contribute our own color and texture. When one thread is snipped too soon, it distorts all the threads around it. Other lives can unravel and tear. If the wrong thread is ripped away, the whole fabric of life becomes dangerously fragile.
