All Things Being Equal

Gee, thanks MC.

Seems I caught your cold, as today, to paraphrase the indomitable her-story, I am hacking and snorking and generally feeling like death is a preference.

MC is working on the house today, with the bizarre thought in mind that we may finally move, after all. It ain't gonna be next month, no matter how much we'd like to think it'll be that way. I'm guessing June or maybe July. Maybe later, knowing how things have been going. The original plan was for me to move in there last October or November, before MC was a serious contender.

Oh well - it's a good thing. He's going to have to buy a new pair of shoes, as he currently only owns one pair. And unfortunately, his ankle requires a particular kind of footwear. He said he's tried braces and not only did they not help, but they aggravated the situation to the point that he pretty much became unable to walk for a while.

Fortunately the kind of shoes he CAN wear, he can get at Wally World, though I hope eventually we'll be able to get to a good shoe store and pick up something that'll give the ankle better support.

We also need to get Toby groomed. He's a house dog but at the moment he looks like a little gray mop that's been used one too many times: very raggedy, knotted and dirty, even with regular baths. He needs a haircut, a good bath, and nails clipped. Once that happens, I will hopefully post before and after pictures.

I've got to get back to work for now, before I go into a full-blown coma for the day. I'll leave you with the latest meme, lifted from boxx and cosmicrayola. Not sure who I swiped it from first!

Before - After

In the grander scheme of things, no soul can truly be replaced. Each one of us has a place in the universal tapestry. We each contribute our own color and texture. When one thread is snipped too soon, it distorts all the threads around it. Other lives can unravel and tear. If the wrong thread is ripped away, the whole fabric of life becomes dangerously fragile.
