Landmark

Wow, finally managed to get on here to post. I hate when I only have a few minutes to post because I'm on my way out the door. Oh well...

Found the photo I wanted though and will link it. I intend to do a painting from this. It's downtown where I live, faded (like most of the area) and time-worn, and I love those details about it.

The building is old and in need of serious refurbishment inside and out, but it has so many wonderful details... Sadly, a few years ago someone went in and tore out the antique registers and several other fixtures. But enough remains to show what a graceful and beautiful landmark she once was.

Well it's time for me to go. Hopefully I'll get an opportunity to write more or edit or something tonight. It's shaping up to be a long weekend...

Before - After

In the grander scheme of things, no soul can truly be replaced. Each one of us has a place in the universal tapestry. We each contribute our own color and texture. When one thread is snipped too soon, it distorts all the threads around it. Other lives can unravel and tear. If the wrong thread is ripped away, the whole fabric of life becomes dangerously fragile.
