Star Signs And Safari

Oops, I stand corrected. Mac's browser is called Safari, not Sahara. I haven't used a Mac to go online, ever, so was working on a short-circuited and undersized memory chip called my brain. I went back and changed it on my earlier entry from this morning, but I'll be the first to admit I was wrong. (Yes, this is my second entry for the day. I slept between entries, so my body doesn't register the same-day thing.)

I'm feeling much better now than I was earlier today, though still not up to par. Hopefully whatever this bug is, it doesn't last more than a day. If I miss more than a day or two at the studios, the work will still pile up, and when I do go back it'll attack me all at once. You know the saying, "I try to take one day at a time, but lately they've been ganging up on me." I've lived it.

Besides which, I'm looking for company for dinner tomorrow night. Being sick is most definitely not in the plans!

I also discovered I've got to nix the plans for the mashed potatoes. I only have one potato in the house. I thought I bought some last night. Apparently not. I'll have to bake a couple of spuds in the microwave. While the clueless gourmet-wannabe in me rebels, sometimes practicality has to win out.

I was IM'ing (Instant Messaging) with friends who all tell me 1) Tall Guy is wife-shopping and 2) he's trying me on for size, so to speak. I knew the former because he told me so. I am still hesitant to pin any hopes on the latter, and am still more than a little nervous about the "M" word in spite of my interest. Heck, I'm nervous about the "L" word (Love). I remember reading something about Sagittariuses being the worst about not committing. I guess the typical reference is to Sagg men. In my case, if the horseshoe fits...!

Maybe that's why the ancients assigned Saggs with the sign of the archer, a centaur. Think about it - of all of the characterizations of the zodiac, the centaur would be most likely to run. Leo, the lion, could undoubtedly lope off if he chose, but the lion is the hunter and regal head of the jungle. The centaur is the mythological creature that combines the cerebral with the animal. In other words, we're a mess.

Hey, maybe that can be my excuse-of-the-week.

"My astrological sign did it."

Before - After

In the grander scheme of things, no soul can truly be replaced. Each one of us has a place in the universal tapestry. We each contribute our own color and texture. When one thread is snipped too soon, it distorts all the threads around it. Other lives can unravel and tear. If the wrong thread is ripped away, the whole fabric of life becomes dangerously fragile.
