Monday Wash Day
Quick note is the best I can do today. We had an extremely wet weekend here; as in flooding. Some evacuations near Roosevelt Lake, nobody hurt, fortunately, but lots of roads closed, including a main highway where the river's flowing over the roadway. There was water within two feet of homes Saturday and an electrical transformer was submerged not too far from there.
There were several crossings here in town that were closed, including the access road to the charter high school. That's receded now but we're looking at more rain beginning day after tomorrow, supposed to linger until the weekend. We need the rain, no doubt about that. And while we've gotten more than expected this winter, and gotten more than our saturated ground can handle in the short-term, we really haven't gotten hammered as badly as could be - it's been spread out over this winter with very few of our famous violent desert downpours.
Ack - break over, gotta get back to work!
Before - After
In the grander scheme of things, no soul can truly be replaced. Each one of us has a place in the universal tapestry. We each contribute our own color and texture. When one thread is snipped too soon, it distorts all the threads around it. Other lives can unravel and tear. If the wrong thread is ripped away, the whole fabric of life becomes dangerously fragile.
