Computer Suicide Is Painless
Time for me to update my template. I let my paid account expire. Darn it, hahaha! I might upgrade in a couple of weeks, but not too concerned about it at the moment. Too many other things to occupy my mind (not to mention my money!)
I found out tonight that I'm going to be a grandmother again. 00 is pregnant with her second (and hopefully last) baby. I'm not going to beat her up for being pregnant and unmarried, but given the heartache she's encountered over her son, I know she's equally upset at the potential for more instability as she is at the thought of another child to raise. Fortunately Pipeboy is NOT in the same category as her ex, on several fronts. His immediate response when he found out that she's pregnant was to order that they BOTH stop smoking immediately.
You know the old sayings about pregnant women glowing? In their case it's probably the light reflecting off of a cold sweat. I saw this young man's face positively lit from within, though, so I have hopes that things will work out.
Yeah, I know that a few days ago the kids were at odds and 00 wanted to drop Pipeboy on his head. They got over it a couple of days later. Now if Pipeboy will get his act together and take responsibility - on all levels - I think they'll be fine together in the long term. I certainly hope that's how it works out. Pregnancy isn't ever easy, and it won't save a relationship that would otherwise have failed, but I have seen instances when it built a maturity that wasn't there before. That would unquestionably make a difference for the better.
I do hope that they move away from here, though. It's not a good place to raise a family. This particular rural community bears little relationship to Mayberry, despite a comment to the effect by a political figure visiting the area. We have all of the problems of a larger city and none of the resources to deal with them.
There was, fortunately, one unequivocally good thing today. This computer seems to be working well so far. It takes forEVER to download all of the Windows updates, install your programs and do all of THEIR updates, and so on. But I think I'm finally about there, thank goodness. One more reboot and I think I'll be about good to go. Now here's hoping that the resolution for my personal computer is relatively painless.
Before - After
In the grander scheme of things, no soul can truly be replaced. Each one of us has a place in the universal tapestry. We each contribute our own color and texture. When one thread is snipped too soon, it distorts all the threads around it. Other lives can unravel and tear. If the wrong thread is ripped away, the whole fabric of life becomes dangerously fragile.
