Ah... Friday at last!
Thank goodness, too, that Hurricane Rita has fallen to a category 3 storm - though sadly for New Orleans, it is still catastrophic. My friend Dee, who fled ahead of Katrina, decided this time to weather Hurricane Rita in NOLA. She's okay for the moment - on the phone with a mutual friend - but given that NOLA is on the east side of this storm and the worst is yet to come, I have to say she's crazy.
I am supposed to go to an art sale/showing tonight, and I guess I should, though I honestly don't feel like moving two inches off the sofa. I came straight home after work and crashed on the sofa. I set a one-hour time limit, set a timer actually - but ended up sleeping closer to an hour and a half, and can't say I'm sorry.
At least I accomplished a few things this week that I set out to accomplish, though to be honest I'm tired of getting hit with conflicting information about programming. I am trying to program things that fit our format - while trying desperately to weed out a bunch of stuff that is way out in left field. Trouble is, one of our "silent partners" is anything BUT silent, telling me to dump the bubblegum (which I am trying to do) and 50's rock stuff, while the primary owner is literally dumping CD's of 50's rock and bubblegum on me and telling me to add it to the mix.
I've decided to ignore 'em all and keep working my way through things as I can. I can honestly say that I am working as fast as I can to clean things up, but this is ridiculous.
Well, I suppose it's showtime, so to speak. Going to get myself dressed and put in an appearance at this to-do and kill an hour or so before coming back home to crash in front of the television for the night. I can handle an hour with the hoity-toity before slapping somebody silly, I guess.
Just realized my gold membership must've expired. I haven't decided yet whether or not to bother renewing it. We'll see how much grief I have trying to put up new posts over the next few days. I'm also overdue to change the layout sometime in the next month or so. I think I want autumn colors for a change, will have to see what I've got to work with in terms of images and such. I've got some interesting graphics and can always create something, too. If nothing else, I can hit the backroads with a camera.
Before - After
In the grander scheme of things, no soul can truly be replaced. Each one of us has a place in the universal tapestry. We each contribute our own color and texture. When one thread is snipped too soon, it distorts all the threads around it. Other lives can unravel and tear. If the wrong thread is ripped away, the whole fabric of life becomes dangerously fragile.
