On The Philosophy Of Gleeful Exing
Curioser and curioser. Or something like that.
I'm half asleep this morning and more than a little irked. I was going to go in and overhaul the studio website (which is out of date and technically challenged,) but while I have a password that permits me to access the main site, it doesn't do jack for the directories within the site. And of course, it's those directories I need to access in order to update the page. Grrr... The boss assured me it's the same password for both, but nooooo...
We have been asked to quote for another website, but this time MC will be handling the majority of the work because frankly, this is waaaaay past my web-building ability. It will be a very technical site in a lot of ways, involving a complex search engine, etc. I will obviously still help with some aspects when needed, but this will be mainly his baby, and he's already told me some things he's got in mind that will really jazz things up and allow us to offer some damned slick presentations. I have to open a bank account in the biz name this week. That'll be an interesting experience, in and of itself; while I've owned a couple of businesses in the past, it's been more than twenty years ago and I didn't open either of those accounts. It's not like opening the account is a big deal, in and of itself - it's just been eons since I owned a business and will seem mighty strange to be part owner this time.
Finding out more and more about MC - like that he's got a degree in accounting, and is an expert in antiques and particularly antique maps. And he enjoys shopping. If that isn't the relationship jackpot, I don't know what is.
I am assuming the shopping bug doesn't extend to shopping for women's clothes or shoes, which is fine, but still! This is a man who wouldn't mind going with me to browse an antique store. Bonus points for the fact that he can spot a fake or the deal of the century. He's already started telling me how to identify some details, and I'd done a little homework on my own.
Oh yeah... and that roommates-only thing? I wasn't entirely sure how long that would last. Turns out, it wasn't long. And that's just fine with me, too. Since this was not what we initially planned, we came in with the roommate concept, but left the situation open from the word go. All I can say now is thank God T took a hike a few months back. I know now what I'd have missed!
Before - After
In the grander scheme of things, no soul can truly be replaced. Each one of us has a place in the universal tapestry. We each contribute our own color and texture. When one thread is snipped too soon, it distorts all the threads around it. Other lives can unravel and tear. If the wrong thread is ripped away, the whole fabric of life becomes dangerously fragile.
