This is going to be a very short entry. We just got word this morning that my sister's fiancee's family was in a car wreck near Blythe, California, and his sister was killed. She was a single mother with two little boys, ages 5 and 8.
We were planning to meet his family for Easter dinner - and now, sadly, we'll never get the opportunity to meet the sister he adored, and two young children are robbed of their mother. My sis and fiancee are driving to pick the boys up from the hospital, and from what I understand, they're the ones who will have to tell the children that their mother is dead.
We don't know what happened to cause the accident. As far as we know the boys weren't badly injured, because they're being released to their uncle; but it is going to be a very difficult time for this family right now, at the very best.
Before - After
In the grander scheme of things, no soul can truly be replaced. Each one of us has a place in the universal tapestry. We each contribute our own color and texture. When one thread is snipped too soon, it distorts all the threads around it. Other lives can unravel and tear. If the wrong thread is ripped away, the whole fabric of life becomes dangerously fragile.
