He Snoozed He Losed
Perfect cap to the week: my desk chair just bit the dust. MC is working on it now and we're going to try and fix it, provided he can tap out the broken piece of bolt that held the back attached to the seat.
I am DEFINITELY going to buy a better chair next time out - one with the back and seat and arms integrated somehow for more stability. I invariably back off from the higher price, while each time inching up in price anyway. Guess it's worth it to just bite the bullet and get a good one to start with. My back will never forgive me if I don't.
This is going to be a short entry for that reason alone. My back decided to just about kill me this weekend. I am guessing it's a combination of stress, bad shoes and too much time on my feet, and the on-its-way-to-busted computer chair. So I have a date with a stack of books (thank you, gwtw!)
I heard from my friend M in Payson and both the people who said they'd leave have now gone, as promised. I gather it was pretty much as bad as I expected after I left. No surprise there, nor that the boss there decided to be a bastard to them, too.
Before - After
In the grander scheme of things, no soul can truly be replaced. Each one of us has a place in the universal tapestry. We each contribute our own color and texture. When one thread is snipped too soon, it distorts all the threads around it. Other lives can unravel and tear. If the wrong thread is ripped away, the whole fabric of life becomes dangerously fragile.
