You've heard the phrase, "When it rains, it pours." I need to paraphrase for Arizona: here, when it's sunny it apparently pours.
After a couple of months of getting nowhere fast on the job front, I've now got several interviews scheduled, all in a span of a few days. MC and I talked; while none of these jobs will make us rich, they do pay enough to cover our butts on some legalities and hopefully allow him to get started working. It's right on the low end of what we really must have, but I'll take it, even if I have to tough it out for a while at something I dislike. Once MC is working and we become a two-income family, any disastrous job won't be a permanent situation, thank God. I still can't quite fathom what that will be like. It just doesn't compute in my brain.
The temperatures have done a flip-flop. Where before we were freezing our collective asses off in snow and the northeast and Canada were basking in relative warmth, things have now reverted to a more normal situation. Our daytime highs have been in the mid 70's, literally about the perfect temperature, and the midwest and northern portions of the world... Well, let's just say winter has exerted its influence at last.
Of course this being Arizona, we'll have one more cold snap and potentially more snow, either right at the end of March or early in April. It never fails. But then we'll go directly into
hell summer, when temperatures will top 100 degrees daily, and in some parts of the state the daytime highs will top 115 daily for several days or weeks.
Yup, that's our tradeoff for mild winters.
Of course by now everyone has heard about the death of Anna Nicole Smith. She's been walking a razor's edge for a long time and her death wasn't entirely a surprise - but that makes it no less tragic for the baby girl she leaves behind. The child will never know her mother and may never know her father, since paternity hasn't ever been established and God knows where things will go from here.
Of course, if she becomes famous when she grows up, in which case several men will probably claim that title.
What a twisted world.
In yet more evidence of how frightening and twisted our world has become, how about everybody is required to get a microchip implanted so their bosses can keep an eye on them? I'm not making this stuff up. The article is here
How apropos. GW Bush and administration, the Antichrist.
Well, time for me to go home. Adios!
Before - After
In the grander scheme of things, no soul can truly be replaced. Each one of us has a place in the universal tapestry. We each contribute our own color and texture. When one thread is snipped too soon, it distorts all the threads around it. Other lives can unravel and tear. If the wrong thread is ripped away, the whole fabric of life becomes dangerously fragile.
