Radiogurl a la Carte

I only have a few minutes before I've got to leave for work. I'm in a slightly better mood than a couple of days ago. The mood changed, the circumstances haven't, at least overall. The kids' stepbrother, thank God, was found alive and well, and I talked to his mother on the phone last night. It was a nice treat, as I haven't talked to her in a couple of years. She sent me some pictures and I gave her the link to my personal page. Now I just have to re-construct the page with the family pictures so she can see them, too.

Boss is going in for medical tests on Monday so I will be running the radio station. Supposedly it will be one day, with the potential to be longer.

It will be longer. I am reasonably sure that he's at least had a mild stroke or series of strokes, and that's the least of his health problems.

So basically I'll be pulling some very, very VERY long hours the next few weeks, and doing both his job and mine. I don't mind too much, I guess - I enjoy being on the air since I don't do it so much these days. Plus this will give me the opportunity, if I'll just DO it, to get the air checks I need to build an audition CD. Depending on how much prep I do the night before, I'll have to go in between 5 and 5:30AM, some days probably nearer 4:30AM. That's fine, provided I can sleep at night. If I can't get back into a sleep routine, I'm screwed.

If it looks like things are REALLY long-term, which is a distinct possibility, we'll have to hire someone else. Boss doesn't want to do that, for numerous reasons, but if we do, we do.

Before I sign off, here's my results from the Freud test, lifted from two different diaries (Chaosdaily and Wench77):

Before - After

In the grander scheme of things, no soul can truly be replaced. Each one of us has a place in the universal tapestry. We each contribute our own color and texture. When one thread is snipped too soon, it distorts all the threads around it. Other lives can unravel and tear. If the wrong thread is ripped away, the whole fabric of life becomes dangerously fragile.
